Surveying the rivers of Southern China, the disregard skeletons of many traditional Junk boats were everywhere. These boats were huge, dominant, beautifully enriched with elements of chinas history, there was an opportunity within these sleeping giants which could be captivated. The junks were constructed from solid hardwoods, engraved with years of stories and usage, a rich patina which was unique in every slab of wood, etches of their travels, their history. Using these reclaimed slabs of solid wood, furniture items were created, enhancing and highlighting the natural string beauty of the wood.
